Pictures to accompany staff bios coming soon!
Sarah Phelps
Founder and Executive Director
Sarah has been riding most of her life, which took a bizarre turn when she decided to go to law school. Among other things,
Sarah represented kids in DC's abuse and neglect system, and that experience was the genesis of Great and Small.
Laurie Bay
Program Director
Also now a lawyer in recovery, Laurie was a member of the Penn State University riding team before throwing her equestrian
energies into therapeutic riding. Laurie was a beloved volunteer instructor with Great and Small and Maryland Therapeutic
Riding before agreeing to head up our program. We are so glad she did.
Sue Tayman
Assistant Program Director and Energizer Bunny avatar :)
A life-long rider, Sue had a career at the Food and Drug Administration before letting the horses completely take over her
life. With lots of good ideas and the skills to back them up, we are still looking for something Sue can't organize.
